    Combining traditional methodologies and social networks to teach job related skills to students with special needs

    Information and Communication Technologies offer more possibilities both for students with special needs and teachers who work with them. In recent years, research has been done about the possible applications and benefits of the use of social networks by people with disabilities, obtaining promising results. However, when reviewing the literature we observe that some professionals do not see social networks as suitable tools for this collective. In this paper, we present a learning experience in which a traditional methodology such as cooperative learning is combined with ClipIt, a social video-based learning platform.     Mobile devices as assistive technologies for ASD: experiences in the classroom

However, more research should be done in order to comprehend how technology affects this collective of people. This paper presents two experiences where participants with cognitive disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder used AssisT-Task to perform job related activities and DEDOS to perform educational activities. Their performance is improved along the sessions using both tools.     [ES]Las Tecnologías de la Información y de la Comunicación ofrecen cada vez más posibilidades tanto a personas con discapacidad como a los profesionales que trabajan con ellos. En los últimos años, se ha investigado sobre las posibles aplicaciones y ventajas del uso de las redes sociales por personas con discapacidad, obteniendo resultados muy positivos. Sin embargo, a la hora de revisar la literatura observamos que gran parte de los profesionales no ven apropiado el uso de las redes sociales por este tipo de personas. En esta comunicación,presentamos una experiencia en la que se combinan metodologías activas innovadoras como aprendizaje cooperativo y colaborativo con ClipIt, una red social de aprendizaje a través de la creación de vídeos. El trabajo desarrollado muestra que la combinación de métodos activos y tecnologías resulta beneficiosa para los estudiantes con capacidades cognitivas diferentes mejorando tanto su motivación, como las competencias adquiridas en el proceso de aprendizaje

    Open-Source Drone Programming Course for Distance Engineering Education.

    This article presents a full course for autonomous aerial robotics inside the RoboticsAcademy framework. This “drone programming” course is open-access and ready-to-use for any teacher/student to teach/learn drone programming with it for free. The students may program diverse drones on their computers without a physical presence in this course. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) applications are essentially practical, as their intelligence resides in the software part. Therefore, the proposed course emphasizes drone programming through practical learning. It comprises a collection of exercises resembling drone applications in real life, such as following a road, visual landing, and people search and rescue, including their corresponding background theory. The course has been successfully taught for five years to students from several university engineering degrees. Some exercises from the course have also been validated in three aerial robotics competitions, including an international one. RoboticsAcademy is also briefly presented in the paper. It is an open framework for distance robotics learning in engineering degrees. It has been designed as a practical complement to the typical online videos of massive open online courses (MOOCs). Its educational contents are built upon robot operating system (ROS) middleware (de facto standard in robot programming), the powerful 3D Gazebo simulator, and the widely used Python programming language.     Effectiveness of a brief intervention on the resilience, mindfulness and empathy of nursing professionals

    Objetivos: Evaluar la eficacia de una intervención guiada basada en la reducción del estrés y compasión, sobre la resiliencia, desgaste por empatía y atención plena de profesionales sanitarios. Metodología: Estudio cuasiexperimental con grupo control e intervención combinada multimodal impartido en 3 sesiones. Grupo control (n = 23), grupo experimental (n = 23).Recogida de datos: se hicieron 4 observaciones y se utilizaron las herramientas Escala Breve de Resiliencia, Inventario Friburgo de Mindfulness, Inventario de Desgaste por Empatía y datos sobre el perfil laboral y vida personal de las profesionales. Para analizar la relación entre variables se utilizó un modelo lineal general, la pruebas de chi cuadrado o de Fisher y análisis de regresión. Resultados: No se encontró un efecto significativo de la intervención evaluada en la puntuación obtenida en atención plena, resiliencia o empatía. El grupo control obtuvo mayor puntuación en atención plena cuando se relacionó con la unidad de trabajo no covid y la ausencia de estresores personales F (1,21)=16,081 p=<0,01, ŋ2=0,434. El perfil empático normal sin riesgo, fue significativamente mayor en unidades no covid frente a las covid en la primera evaluación (70% vs 30%, p=0,002). El perfil de baja resiliencia en técnicos de cuidados auxiliares de enfermería, fue mayor durante la última evaluación (72,2% vs 27,8%, p=0,003), momento que coincidió con un mayor número de pacientes hospitalizados por covid. Conclusiones: Factores personales y laborales (categoría profesional, la unidad de trabajo y presión asistencial) tuvieron más influencia en el bienestar psicológico de los profesionales, que la intervención realizada.Objectives: Assess the efficacy of a guided intervention based on stress reduction and compassion, related to resilience and compassion fatigue of healthcare professionals.     Clinical validation of risk scoring systems to predict risk of delayed bleeding after EMR of large colorectal lesions

    [Background and Aims]: The Endoscopic Resection Group of the Spanish Society of Endoscopy (GSEED-RE) model and the Australian Colonic Endoscopic Resection (ACER) model were proposed to predict delayed bleeding (DB) after EMR of large superficial colorectal lesions, but neither has been validated. We validated and updated these models.[Methods]: A multicenter cohort study was performed in patients with nonpedunculated lesions ≥20 mm removed by EMR. We assessed the discrimination and calibration of the GSEED-RE and ACER models. Difficulty performing EMR was subjectively categorized as low, medium, or high. We created a new model, including factors associated with DB in 3 cohort studies.[Results]: DB occurred in 45 of 1034 EMRs (4.5%); it was associated with proximal location (odds ratio [OR], 2.84; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.31-6.16), antiplatelet agents (OR, 2.51; 95% CI, .99-6.34) or anticoagulants (OR, 4.54; 95% CI, 2.14-9.63), difficulty of EMR (OR, 3.23; 95% CI, 1.41-7.40), and comorbidity (OR, 2.11; 95% CI, .99-4.47). The GSEED-RE and ACER models did not accurately predict DB. Re-estimation and recalibration yielded acceptable results (GSEED-RE area under the curve [AUC], .64 [95% CI, .54-.74]; ACER AUC, .65 [95% CI, .57-.73]). We used lesion size, proximal location, comorbidity, and antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy to generate a new model, the GSEED-RE2, which achieved higher AUC values (.69-.73; 95% CI, .59-.80) and exhibited lower susceptibility to changes among datasets.[Conclusions]: The updated GSEED-RE and ACER models achieved acceptable prediction levels of DB. The GSEED-RE2 model may achieve better prediction results and could be used to guide the management of patients after validation by other external groups.
